Signal Strategies That Drive the Live Portfolio

DEFINTEL runs two primary option strategies with its own capital. Signals reflect these same setups.

Secondary Strategy
LEAP Positioning
Long-dated equity options (12 to 24 months out) on high-conviction names where the thesis requires time to develop. Lower time-decay risk, higher capital efficiency than stock ownership.
1
Multi-channel signal convergence: insider buying, institutional accumulation, technical breakout
2
Macro tailwind confirmation for the sector (e.g., AI accelerator for AMD)
3
Buy LEAP calls with 12 to 24 months to expiry, delta 0.5 to 0.7
4
Scale out on target price milestones, not calendar dates

Technology Stack

DEFINTEL's signal and execution infrastructure is built on production-grade components.

PostgreSQL (Neon)
Signal Storage & Subscriber State
All generated signals, subscriber state, tier assignments, and alert queues are stored in a self-hosted PostgreSQL instance (Neon). Signals are written by the scoring engine after every run and served in real-time to subscribers via the /api/signals Netlify function. Authentication uses bcrypt password hashing and JWT tokens, no third-party auth services.

SEC EDGAR
Insider Filings & Institutional Disclosures
Form 4 insider transaction data and 13F institutional holdings changes are pulled from SEC EDGAR. DEFINTEL monitors new filings as they appear and routes them through the signal scoring pipeline. Only open-market purchases by insiders are weighted as bullish signals.
Form 413FEDGAR API
STOCK Act Disclosures
Congressional Trade Monitoring
Congressional financial disclosure filings are monitored in real-time. When a senator or representative reports a stock or options transaction, DEFINTEL cross-references it with existing signal data and incorporates it into the scoring model for affected tickers.

How Confidence Scores Are Calculated

Each signal receives a 0 to 100 confidence score. Only signals above threshold are delivered to subscribers. All Access subscribers see the full score breakdown.

Factor Weight Description Score Contribution
channel_accuracy 35% Historical accuracy of this channel type in current market regime
signal_magnitude 25% How far the signal deviates from historical baseline (z-score)
cross_channel 25% Whether multiple channels confirm the same ticker simultaneously
market_regime 15% Current macro/sector environment and how it affects signal reliability

Signals below score 60 are suppressed and not delivered.
