HOW CONTAGION SCANNING WORKS
From price shock to trading signal in 4 steps

Detect
Scanner monitors 150+ tickers. When any moves >4% intraday, it triggers a contagion scan against its peer group.

Correlate
252-day rolling correlation calculated for every peer. Only peers with correlation >0.50 are flagged as potential cascade targets.

Score
Composite contagion score generated from correlation strength, move magnitude, options IV data, and peer's current move (confirmed vs diverging).

Label
Signals scoring above 100 are tagged HIGH and carry an 8-hour window. Each one is labelled BUY_CALL when the predicted move is up, BUY_PUT when it is down, or BUY_STRADDLE when the direction is unresolved. A peer already moving against the predicted direction is tagged DIVERGING and its score is multiplied by 0.3.
