Confidence is capped by calibration rules so the system cannot claim more certainty than its own history supports. Because many strong picks cluster near the cap, a raw score stops discriminating — so each signal also carries a percentile rank against today's actual slate ("Top 10% of today's slate" means exactly that, recomputed live). A rank against the real slate tells you more than a number against an imaginary scale.
